As 2013 comes to a close, the inner snoop in me was curious what the cheapest and the most expensive homes of 2013 were. For your enjoyment…
The Lowest Priced Sales of 2013:
This West Seattle condo sold for $52,000 on 12/27/13. The buyer for this condo had to assume a $10,914 special assessment to pay for new roof, siding and windows. Even at $62,914, that is a STEAL for a home in Seattle.
A house for $65,000?!?!?! You read that correctly. This bank-owned, Rainer Valley house was most likely a tear-down, but it is almost unbelievable that you could buy a house in the City of Seattle for under $100,000. It sold on 10/14/13 to an all cash buyer.
On the other end of the spectrum… The most expensive homes of 2013:
The Penthouse at Escalla. This top floor, 5,170 square foot condo sold on 3/15/13 for $6,200,000. As if that price isn’t crazy enough, this condo was just a shell. It had no walls, no bathrooms, no kitchen, no nothing! And the person that bought it paid cash for it. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be once it has been completed.
And the most expensive sale in 2013 was…
An estate in Denny Blaine. This home boasts 8.270 square feet, seven bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms and amazing views. It was on the market for almost a year and finally sold on 5/22/13 for 6.5 million dollars.
One can only imagine what 2014 has to offer.
